A frequent question on an amateur magician's mind is "Should I tell how I did this trick?" I know one of the most important rules of magic is not to ever reveal a trick. But I believe you can let out the secret with your best friends (really trustworthy) because anyway they hang out with you so much that they will eventually find out how the trick was done.

ADVANTAGES:

  1. If you tell them, then to them you're the bigger person.
  2. Now you can practice with your friends, see if they can spot the secret, ask for their feedback and suggestions.
  3. You do not have to be afraid of them suddenly shouting out how the trick was done.
  4. If they figure it out for themselves then they'll want to brag about it and maybe even show it but if you tell them then they'll be quiet.
  5. They will also help you with the trick as undercover spectators and make the trick more believable to the real audience.
  6. You do not have to worry about repeating a trick to a new person when your friend is also watching.
  7. Then you can have a friendly face during the trick who you know will cooperate with you.
But only tell them if you trust them with your life and make them swear that they'll never speak about the secret.
