Coin Through Table
Effect: Coin appears to penetrate the table wood, metal etc. of the table and end up in your hand. (works best in restaurants where there is already the things you need to execute this magic trick)
You need: An extra coin, a napkin (some people may need something to hold the napkin down)
Preparations: Put the napkin down on the table with something on top of it. (Don't let them see this)
How to Do it: Ask the spectator if the have a quarter (can work with other coins), Take the coin and place it next to the napkin (not under it), place your fingertips around the edges of the coin make sure the coin is not visible!!! then ask them "Do you know what a soft spot is? It is the on minute place in a table that allows you to pass something through the table without leaving a mark...If you have the touch" While you are talking to them and getting them to look at your face under the cover of your hand you are gonna take your index finger and your thumb and push them together forcing the coin to go under the napkin. As long as you are talking they wont notice. Its hard to see it anyway unless you know its coming. After you slide the coin under the napkin take your fingers keeping the from of the coin and slide it all around the table as if you were looking for where it will fit. The suddenly take all of your fingers up as if you were pushing the coin through the table. Now here is the easy part...As you are pushing the coin around you are going to take the second coin which will be on your lap and slide the rim of it against the bottom of the table. When you "push" the coin through the table snap the coin up against the bottom of the table creating the sound of a coin passing through. Then remove your hand and you will have the same coin in your hand. (Just the other coin you had).

If you are borrowing a coin you don't know for sure what you are going to get. You'll have to have a variety hidden. Unless...Having secreted the coin under the napkin, take the opportunity to remove the napkin - "It's in the way." In this way you remove the borrowed coin, also. Now contrive to get the coin out of the napkin - dropping it into your lap? - and continue as described.

I think this is pretty good. i've already heard about how to do this on an episode of Criss Angel Mindfreak. You could even slide the coin under the napkin when they're watching your hand. you could pretend to bring the coin forward, but actually you hit it using your thumb to make it go under the napkin. of course you need more practice to do this. it gets better reactions because they remember that they never took their eyes off of your hand.

It's a good trick, however there might be some problem like, what if the spectator doesn't have a quarter, instead they've decided to use a different coin. You might have a hard time explaining why you must use a quarter. If failed to explain some might figure out your trick and ruin the fun.

ummm wouldn't it be much easier if you didnt use a napkin, simply slid the coin BACKWARDS into your lap instead of forwards while they're not looking and then pick it out of your lap with your other hand and then the coin can be signed?

I enjoyed it, but it was a
Criss Angel knock-off. It is really better. Walk up to somebody in a restaraunt and ask: "Can I bother you for a second?" If they say yes, have a cricket in a handkerchief and put a coin on the table.(Palm the hanky outta sight.) Wave your hand over the coin 2 times, and the third time, you touch the coin, pick it up, and release the cricket. They will freak!!!!!!!!!!!!

I seen Criss Angel do the same trick on the television. Completely blew my mind when I saw it, and he did go on to explain it. I thought it to be very cool cus he borrowed a coin from someone, what if they would have handed him a different coin. Still can't dought his skill in illusion so I think he could have done it anyway.
