Do as I Do

Do As I Do

Needed : 2 decks of cards with two different backs preferably red and blue backs but that's just me.

No Preperation!!! (Isn't that nice?)

1.) First of all you have to get a spectator who will participate. Once you have your volunteer hand her a deck of cards, it doesn't matter which one, and tell him/her to do exactly as you do.

2.) Shuffle the cards as you wish but you the "magician" need to make sure when you are finished shuffling you memorize the card at the bottom of the deck that YOU are holding.

3.) Tell the spectator that you now need to switch decks. Once you have switched spread the cards in front of you and tell the volunteer to do like-wise. Now you both pick a card out of the deck you are now in possession of (not the deck you originally had). Once you pick your card pretend to memorize it but tell the volunteer to memorize it (they actually will)

4.) Now tell the spectator to place their card at the top of the deck (directly on top) do like-wise. Now do a standard deck cut take the bottom half and put it on top do this as many times as desired. Now tell the spectator to do the same.

5.) Switch decks again. Now the Magic begins. Tell the volunteer to go through the deck and find their card. Same suit and color. You do the same but look for your "key card" the card you memorized.
                                      !!!WAIT!!!
Don't take that card out! Look for the card directly below it. Now Take that Card. That will be their card if they don't mess up the cutting.

If the Card you memorized is on the very bottom once again after shuffling the card that they had is on top. It is always nice when this happens because they expect you have the card wrong because the "know" they shuffled it well so its a surprise! Everyone loves surprises. = O
