Kinetic Coin Magic Trick Explanation
The video below will tell you how to do the Kinetic Coin magic trick:
If you cannot view the video, here are the steps:
REQUIREMENTS:- 2 quarters, ungimmicked
- 1 half-dollar, ungimmicked and can be borrowed
- 1 butter knife, ungimmicked and can be borrowed
- Prepare for this trick by back-clipping a quarter between the first and second fingers of your left hand. Also, back-clip ANOTHER quarter between the second and third fingers of your left hand. If you open your hand and tilt it slightly forward, no one will see the quarters at all.
- Next, place the half-dollar on your fingertips. This should hide any visible portion of the quarters that may have been sticking through your fingers.
- Hold the butter knife in your right hand
- Perform David Williamson's "Strike Vanish" and secretly catch the half-dollar in your right hand.
- At the same time, drop both quarters from back-clip position onto the table to complete the startling effect.

Dear Tim David,
Couldnt you just hide the 2 quarters in you hand that is holding the butter knife and at your last hit with the knife ( right when you pick up the half dollar) drop the 2 quarters?

I tried that, and it is not as clean or as easy to do. (Remember, you need the right hand to be free to catch the half dollar!)
Besides, it's much more difficult to cleanly hand the props out to be examined if you're awkwardly hiding something in your hand.
With a back palm, you can show your palms cleanly empty while you hide the coins underneath.
I think of everything!

This is truly awesome. Although, I myself is not a great magician. However, I am in love with it. This is my childhood hobby and I know more than 500 small & 100 great all the time trick. ANd I do it just for my curiousity and to show my skills. However, I never done it publicly - for money. I don't want to make it as profession. But I would surely love to learn all the tricks and increase my knowledge. The above trick is awesome and I would rate it 5***** [5 stars]. An excellent trick once again.

cool trick but half dollars are harder to come by. I was able to hide 2 dimes and a nickel and do it with a quarter, didn't seem to be any more difficult, just one extra coin, no biggie for me.
