Mataus Amuruso
Hi, i'm Mataus. I am a new magician who has taken an interest in impromptu magic. I love impromptu magic because it is quick and easy, and quite often leaves your audience baffled. My favorite impromptu magic is coin magic.
View all articles by Mataus AmurusoCoin warp- how to do it
EFFECT: The magician holds a coin palm up in his right hand. His other hand, he also holds palm up with nothing in it though. He flips over his hands and the coin has mysteriously warped to the other hand!
You will need: A coin of any discription.
Method: Put the coin down on a table in front of the audience. Show your hands cleanly, and roll up your sleeves. Then take the coin off the table and place it in your dominant hand. The secret is that when you place it in your hand, you put it beside your thumb. (i.e if you're right handed to the left of your thumb.) Then flip your hands over quickly and the coin should fly across to the other hand. This takes PRACTICE.
Tip: Try flipping your other hand about a fraction of a second after your coin hand.

sensational trick. even after i told my couisin (amateru magician) how it works, he didn´t see anything.it´s happening so fast that your eye is not able to catch the coin. just practise and practise. It was very funny to watch my cousin and others staring at my hands from a very close distance and they were not able to see anything.

Very nice! Useing the same method, fake drop the coin into right hand while actually tucking it between the left thumb and index finger. Raise your left hand out concealing the coin hiden between the thumb and index finger of left hand. With your right hand closed as if clenching the coin, quickly toss the supposed coin over to the left hand which should be held up approx around eye level of spectater to hide the angles. While keeping your right hand open for everyone to see, quickly close your left hand into a fist as if actually catching the speeding coin. Now slowly open your left hand to reveal the coin. I usually do this one for those who always want to know how a trick is done. First I show them the trick, then I actually place the coin in my right hand in the same manner I would if I was tucking it between my thumb and index finger of my left hand. This time I allow them to see the coin still in my right hand. I coach them on proper hand stance, and demonstrate in slow motion of throwing the coin over into my left hand. I tell them if they keep practicing they will get just as fast. Then, I show it one more time. My brother has been practicing unsuccessfully for almost a year.

Interesting. We must have had the same idea at the same time. I have been practicing this for about a week. I place the coin in my non-dominant hand, however, and across my middle finger. The hands should be close together or the flying coin is too exposed. You can use this to put a coin through a solid (not glass) table.

If any of you are confused about where the coin is placed in the hand, place it on the thumb muscle. I.e the muscle you hold the coin in place with when you're doing classic palm.
